Step aboard S/Y The Junk for an unparalleled liveaboard diving experience in Thailand, the best dive sites around the Similans and Surin Islands, one of Thailands top scuba diving destinations.
The eastern sides of the Similans have more gentle currents, sand covered fringing reefs made up of hard coral. The reef plateau’s are around 5-10 metres deep with gentle slopes heading down to the reef edge at around 20-25m, ideal for divers of all levels. A huge variety of coral reef fish with garden eels, blue-spot mask rays and the blue-spot jaw fish, including harlequin and robust ghost pipefish, short pouch pygmy pipe horses and hawksbill turtles.
To the west, giant granite boulders tumble to the seabed easily reaching depths of 40m. Currents can be a little unpredictable but the currents have kept the boulders free from a build-up of sand, leading to dive sites with a variety of canyons, tunnels, swim throughs, archways and caverns. Keep an eye out for andaman sweetlips, dogtooth tuna and anglerfish and of course larger pelagic’s.
Join us for our very popular Similans and Surin Islands, liveaboard trip October / November 2020, for some spectacular diving, 6 nights, 7 days upto 19 dives.
