Unforgettable aquatic adventures for kids – Go underwater and discover the wonder of Snorkel, Scuba, Mermaid, and Freediving Explorer programs
The SSI Explorers program allows children starting at age six to go underwater and sample the different ways they can explore the aquatic world around them.
Explorer materials start by introducing your children to the importance of protecting and preserving the world’s oceans by becoming a Blue Oceans Explorer. They will gain a solid foundation in ocean conservation and have the opportunity to experience four main aquatic adventures: snorkeling, scuba diving, freediving, and swimming like a real mermaid.
Explorer Pre-Requisites
- Minimum age is 6, for Snorkeling, (Mermaid* & Freediving*)
- Minimum age is 8, for Scuba Diving
- You must be able to swim 12 metres without any swim or buoyancy aids
- A parent or guardian must be at the pool to accompany children under the age of 16 years old, they do not need to participate, but will be required to stay during the experience.
- All participants must download and complete the SSI Medical Disclaimer Form prior to participation. Any pre-existing medical conditions highlighted on this form will require medical clearance before we can allow you to take part.
Course Fee
EXPLORER - Part One - £250pp
(£50 paid at each session)
What's included?
The course fee includes main equipment hire, air, tuition, SSI Scuba Explorer Activity Book, fun, games, swimming pool fees. (You must have your own mask and snorkel.)
Course Duration
5 weeks (1 evening per week, 60 mins)
(There are no open water dives with this course)
How do I sign up?
- Download the SSI APP Register for FREE and complete your profile in full.

Complete the SSI Medical Disclaimer Form and email to info@jcscuba.net for us to review.
- Pay your non-refundable deposit to secure your place. Remaining payments are then spread equally at each session and will be called for prior to each pool session.
- Once your order comes through we will check the calendar and advise you of our next available start date.
What will I do?
During each session you will learn the basics of snorkelling and diving, things like buoyancy control, mask skills and regulator recovery.
On completion of session one, subject to meeting all the performance requirements, the SSI Snorkel Explorer certification will be achieved and at the end of session five you will earn the Scuba Explorer certification.
This course is designed for young divers who are looking for action packed fun in a pool, being introduced to the basics of safe diving in a play environment.
