SSI Try Scuba program is the best way to try scuba diving for the first time.  Conducted in confined water you will be well looked after by your instructor, so you can enjoy those first unforgettable breaths underwater and experience the magic of scuba diving.

At the end of this short session, you will have earned your SSI Try Scuba certification and undoubtedly want to go diving again.  Endless scuba diving adventures are waiting for you and this session is where it all begins. Start today!

Try Dive Pre-Requisites

• Minimum age is 8.
• A parent or guardian must be at the pool to accompany children under the age of 16. 
  
• All participants please answer the following questions before placing an order
  Answer each of the following questions about your past and present medical conditions If you are not sure, then answer [YES].

  Do you currently have or have you been treated within the last 12 months for any of the following:

  1 | A heart, circulatory, blood, blood pressure, or bleeding abnormality that affects your ability to swim? [ Yes ] [ No ]

  2 | A breathing or lung disorder (such as asthma or shortness of breath)? [ Yes ] [ No ]

  3 | Musculoskeletal, stamina, strength, or mobility disorders that affects your ability to swim? [ Yes ] [ No ]

  If you answered [YES] to any of these questions, then you must additionally complete the Diver Medical Participation Questionnaire. The Diver Medical Participation Questionnaire is a more thorough medical screening form used to determine if you need to be evaluated by a physician prior to any in-water diving activities.

The session fee includes all equipment hire, air, tuition and swimming pool fees.

How do I sign up?

• If you have passed the medical questions, download the SSI APP, register with JC Scuba and complete your profile in full.
• Payment is required with the booking to secure your place.
• Once your order comes through we will check the calendar and advise you of our next available date. 
• For groups of 10 or more please email us for availability and price.

What will I do?
Your underwater adventure will begin with one of our Instructors introducing you to the scuba equipment you will be using during your adventure, and you’ll learn the basic techniques for using scuba diving gear. 

You will then be given time to adjust to the exhilarating feeling of breathing underwater and before you know it you'll be totally immersed, experiencing Scuba Diving first hand.

When are they held?
The sessions are held every Wednesday evening at The Ridgeway Leisure Centre Pool, Wroughton 8:00pm, kit up 7:30pm. SATNAV SN4 9DJ

What next?
Once you have taken your first scuba diving lesson, you are well on your way to becoming a certified Scuba Diver. The SSI Open Water Diver course is the next step in your journey. This course can be completed here in the UK or when you go on your holiday as an SSI Open Water Referral option.
